ShahRukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in Don 2
The rumors have changed directions guys! The rumor was that FArhan Akhtar has opted Priyanka out of Don 2 and has roped in Sushmitha Sen but the wind is blowing the other way now. Apart from SRK, Priyanka is supposed to have a meaty part in Don 2.
Sushmitha’s inclusion has been dismissed altogether. SRK and Priyanka’s dates for the shoot have also been finalized. The sequel is supposed to raise new standards of special effects. Ah I can’t wait for the movie!
Sanjay Dutt tired and giving up
Sanjay Dutt has been staying strong for all these years of his court trial and family ups and downs. But the actor’s health and tolerance is fading of finally with media in his homeland behaving completely like a pestilence in his life. “Two of the bones in his vertebrae have collapsed suddenly. Sanju had to have them attended to immediately. But yes, Sanju feels stories about him buying a new Ferrari when the car has been in his garage for two years, aren’t helping his cause. The news item had really stressed him out. We had to ask him to calm down. The worst blow was when a section of the media wrote about another bomb accused getting a sentence of rigorous-imprisonment. Sanju felt these reports were unfairly comparing his case to the convicted man’s case. He thought the media’s implied contention that Sanju too should get just as harsh a sentence was too harsh on him. Sanju has suffered enough. And he needs to settle down in life,” mentions a close associate of the veteran actor. To top these paparazzi things at home are also not favorable to him. His relationship with lady Manyata has been a constant trouble back home. His sisters dislike Manyata and are giving a tough time to Sanjay Dutt. Dutt neither wants to hurt his sisters nor does he wants to abandon his lady-love. I guess the man has had his time of punishment, now the press and also his family should let him leave the way he wants. At least one can lend him that much piece for his contribution in the field of art.
Aamir Khan worried about his second lady
Aamir is very choosy and does a maximum of one movie a year. So after a long break after Fanaa, which was last summer, Aamir has started his ‘Kajri’- hindi remake of south Indian hit movie ‘Ghajini’. But the man looks pretty cheesed out because of the non-existent second lady in the film. Well, if you remember we had introduced the first leading lady Asin to you then you will also remember that Priyanka and Kangana were considered for the role of the second lead lady in the movie. Apparently none of the two are being considered now. The offer is hovering over Konkona Sen this time. Aamir and also Konkona seems keen to work with each other. So let us see who is roped in finally.

Chain Kulli Ki Main Kulli comes after Jhoom Barabar Jhoom
Rahul Bose will give a sweet challenge to the team of Jhoom Barabar Jhoom with his magical comedy Chain Kulli Ki Main Kulli (CK2MK). JBJ will release on the 15th of June and CK2MK releases a week after that. Debutant director Kituu Salooja says a children’s story which revolves around the relation between Rahul Bose and child actor Adil Badshah with cricket as backdrop.
Bose plays the Captain of the Indian Cricket team and an opening batsman. Now comes the never-thought-of element- Adil, who is barely 13, plays the co-opener in the team who helps the team win a 5 match One Day series against Pakistan. Also look out for some magic in the movie. That sounds a full entertainer for kids.
Hrithik Roshan raises eyebrows at Cannes
Cannes serves as a good platform for filmmakers to showcase their films and earn a market for it. Same was the reason why Ashutosh Gowarikar marketted Jodhaa Akbar. And as expected the movie trailer made a huge impact at the international market.
Cannes edition- Variety rated Ashutosh as one of the top 60 people to watch out for and also buyers at Germany, France, South Africa were very excited to showcase the movie at their respective festivals. And the main highlight in the trailer was the marvelous stunt pulled off by Hrithik Roshan with an elephant. Wow…that sure will make any one’s eyebrows lift!
Anil Ambani and Farhan Akhtar collaborate for Big Films
He has been ruling the telecom world for quite some time and now Anil Ambani is stepping into the entertainment industry with a high profile partnership with Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. Reliance Entertainment executives have signed a six film deal with Excel which includes sequel to Don and a movie with Hrithik Roshan. Zoya Akhtar, Reema Kagti and Farhan Akhtar are the three directors sure to be in the deal three more will be fixed soon. Excel plans to release more than nine movies before December 2009.
Shilpa Shetty to be a style statement with S2
London has been mesmerized by Shilpa’s beauty and it will be miserably enchanted by her fragrance too. Shilpa Shetty will be launching her own perfume range called S2 on June 12. The markets targeted are UK and Gulf. Manufacturers Fragrance and Beauty are the team behind this perfume launch. And Shilpa sounds all very happy the way the fragrance has shaped up: “I selected the final fragrance and am very happy with it. The perfume lasts really long and has notes of jasmine and citrus to it”.
‘The perfume will be housed in a classic yet modern bottle, designed with a leopard print on a panel inside. It’s to represent the two sides to Shilpa –cool on the outside and deep on the inside. Besides jasmine and musk, there are also fruity flavours to the perfume, which is supposed to reflect her Indian heritage and will appeal to the UK and Gulf markets,’ say the review.
Priyanka Chopra steps past Madhuri Dixit
After Farah Khan being termed the lady in this man’s world of Bollywood, she has become a name on everyone’s lip. So ace choreographer Saroj Khan has also decided to enter into Bollywood as a director with her film ‘Sati…a burning desire to love’. The veteran had as such not taken the success of her once assistant Farah Khan’s success as a choreographer very well. Saroj Khan debuted as a director with a Bhojpuri film “Dil Diwana Tohar Gayil”. And who is going to be the lead lady for the film- none other than the reigning queen Priyanka Chopra. Saroj Khan dropped Madhuri for the role saying the she doesn’t deserve the role- wow…what a joke!
Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan change profession
Looks like Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have taken the phrase “start a colorful life’ quite literally.
The couple will be seen painting together on a canvas under Cousin Namrita Bachchan’s guidance. Namrita is planning to sell the painting by the couple for charity purposes. Initially the idea was to make each Ash and Abhishek draw a portrait, but Ash insisted on striking the brush with hubby sweetheart. Looking at the popularity the couple has banked on after marriage it is higly likely that the painting would go for a great bid. Good for the charity!
Abhishek Bachchan’s Drona delayed by a year
Goldie Behl’s ‘Drona’ has always been in troubled waters. And this time the movie has be postponed by a year. The movie is supposed to be Abhishek’s answer to Hrithik’s superhuman qualities in Koi Mil Gaya and Krrish. The producers say special effects take time and therefore the movie is slated only to next year start.
Well, it isn’t they didn’t have an idea about the special effects earlier when they supposedly fixed the releasing date for November this year. So is it competition that has the producers take a back seat. With movies like Ashutosh Gowariker’s Jodha Akbar, Pradeep Sarkar’s Laga Chunari Mein Daag and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariyan, who would like to risk their prospects.
‘Making Of Omakara’ on the shelves
We all have savored Vishal Bharadwaj’s “Omakara” and now it is time to saor the making of Omkara. It was easily one of the best movies in 2006 and probably the best movie to be written a book on. Stephen Alter, the author known for his nostalgia-filled writing, is the author of this memorable description. He is also Tom Alter’s First Cousin.

Hussain and Prahlad Kakkar talking about how Bollywood has shaped up over the years. I wanted to include Karan Johar as well, but could not catch hold of him.” The book will also have 16 Black and White stills from the film. So you movie buffs over there catch hold of the book before the stock ends.
